I am a PhD student at Cambridge University studying computational methods to measure DNA replication. However, my background is actually originally in Physics and Mathematics. Having studied A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics I went to the University of Sheffield to study Theoretical Physics. I particularly loved the mathematical and computational parts of my degree so I then went to study Scientific Computing and Data Analysis at Durham University with a specialization in Astrophysics. I realized that I wanted to use my knowledge to study something a bit more down to earth so I transitioned into computational biology. I love all of the sciences and could never really pick just one to study. I also feel that anyone can do well in the subject with the right guidance and motivation! Feel free to ask me any questions you have about going to university and applications as I have gone through the process many times now!
I first started tutoring over 4 years ago I have tutored students of a range of ages and abilities from Year 7 Maths to Year 13 A-level Physics. During this time I have tutored over 1000 online lessons and received over 150 5* reviews. I absolutely love my tutees grow in confidence and in some cases achieve grades even higher than they thought they thought was possible. At GCSE level I have tutored people studying across all three exam boards and sciences including IGCSE which is what I studied myself at school. At A-level I have experience tutoring Physics (particularly AQA), Maths and Further Maths.
